SOLD - French 1880s Walnut Console Table with Single Drawer and Turned Baluster Legs

SOLD - A French walnut console table from the late 19th century, with long single drawer, turned baluster legs and low side stretchers. Created in France during the last quarter of the 19th century at a time when the Impressionists were roaming the countryside to look for inspiration, this walnut console table features a rectangular planked top with rounded corners on all sides, sitting above a long single drawer. Showcasing two wooden pulls, the drawer presents a dovetail construction revealing the piece's good age. The table is raised on four turned baluster-shaped legs on rectangular block joints, connected to one another through plain side stretchers aiming at strengthening the ensemble. Resting on petite feet, the table boasts a nice patina. With its simple lines and lovely turned legs, this French walnut console table circa 1880 will make for a great addition to any home, perhaps placed in a living room, bedroom or foyer where its walnut color will blend with any décor, from traditional to modern.
