Pair of Italian 19th Century Paintings Depicting Venice in Black and Gold Frames

A pair of Italian framed oil on fiberboard paintings from the 19th century depicting Venice's Piazza San Marco and the Ponte del' Rialto. Created in Italy during the 19th century, each of this pair of framed paintings depicts a view from one of the most famous cities in the world, Venice the Serenissima. The painting photographed on the left depicts the lagoon's side of Piazza San Marco, recognizable thanks to its column dedicated to the city's patron Saint Mark the Evangelist, symbolized here by a winged lion. The familiar silhouettes of the Doge's Palace and the Saint Mark's Basilica complete the composition. The painting on the right features the Ponte del' Rialto, connecting the two banks together. In typical Venetian tradition, the atmosphere on both scenes is bathed in a golden light. Gondolas and various other boats sail on the canal, revealing the city's busy time. The paintings are set inside black and gold frames with twisted motifs. With their romantic scenes and lovely execution, this pair of Italian framed paintings from the 19th century will make for a wonderful addition to any wall!
