SOLD - A French Louis XV period walnut tric trac game table from the late 18th century with removable top, two drawers and cabriole legs. Created in France towards the end of the reign of King Louis XV nicknamed Le Bien-Aimé in the third quarter of the 18th century, this walnut table features a rectangular top covered with caramel colored leather on one side and red felt on the other. This top can be removed to reveal an interior with side boxes, made to play the game of "tric trac" translating as backgammon in English. The carved apron conceals four drawers each fitted with a single brass pull. The ensemble is raised on four four elegant cabriole legs. Boasting a nice patina and great rustic character, this French Louis XV period walnut tric trac backgammon game table circa 1770 will make for a wonderful addition to any home, particularly placed in a living room.
