SOLD: French Louis XV Style Bedside Table with Inlaid Top, Two Drawers and Pull-Out

SOLD: A French Louis XV style cherry, burl walnut and mahogany bedside table from the 20th century, with quarter veneer inlaid top, two drawers and pull out on cabriole legs with bronze mounts. Created in France during the 20th century, this table de chevet (translating as bedside table in English) showcases the stylistic characteristics of the Louis XV era. The table draws our attention with its magnificent quarter veneered top accented with an inlaid diamond motif. The façade presents two drawers, the first one fitted with a petite pull on floral backplate, the lower one with a Rococo escutcheon. A small pull-out drawer, with black leather hinting at dark brown, is concealed at the top. The sides are inlaid with additional diamond motifs and the back is, of course, plain. The ensemble is raised on four slender cabriole legs with delicate bronze mounts. The legs are connected to one another through an apron carved on all sides. With its graceful silhouette and mix of cherry, burl walnut and mahogany essences, this French Louis XV style table de chevet from the 20th century will make for a lovely addition to any home, particularly placed in a bedroom!
