SOLD - French 1850s Walnut Oval Extension Dining Table with Four Removable Leaves

A French Napoleon III period walnut oval extension dining room table from the mid-19th century, with drop leaves, four removable leaves, tapered legs and casters. Born in France during the 1850s, this French dining room table features a walnut oval top showcasing drop leaves and four removable ones (later additions and measuring 21.13" each), resting on a rectangular apron. The ensemble is raised on four straight tapered legs placed in the extremities, assisted by two additional ones in the centre to support the extensions. Each leg is resting on a brass caster, allowing the table to be moved easily. Once the leaves are removed, the table becomes a smaller oval table with drop leaves. Perfect to be used as a dining table, centre table or to be placed against a wall with one or both of its leaves down, this versatile mid-19th century walnut table will bring a touch of French elegance to any dining room, foyer or living room.
