SOLD -French Napoléon III period bouillotte table from the mid-19th century, with marble top and pierced gallery. Created in France at the beginning of the reign of Emperor Napoléon III, this bouillotte table features a circular top with grey marble inset, surrounded by a pierced brass gallery. The apron is adorned with fluted accents on the knees and presents two drawers and two pull-out shelves. The term bouillotte comes from the card game of the same name (a version of the poker) which became extremely popular in France during the late 18th century. The table is raised on four fluted tapering legs resting on petite feet. With its elegant lines and complimenting colors, this Napoléon III bouillotte game table circa 1850 will bring a classical presence to any home, perhaps placed in a living room, bedroom or foyer.
