SOLD - A pair of French Louis XV period painted and gilded single-light wall sconces from the late 18th century, with scrolling motifs. Born in France during the third quarter of the 18th century, each of this pair of wall sconces features a circular back plate, adorned with delicate motifs carved in low-relief. Each arm is made of a C-scroll, connected to an inverted scroll supporting the gadrooned bobèche and its candle sleeve. With their graceful lines and lovely gilt and painted finish, these Louis XV wall sconces circa 1770 will bring a touch of French elegance to any home, perhaps placed above a commode, pair of demi-lunes or side tables.
