Italian 18th Century Roman Rococo Dining Room Side Chairs with Suede Upholstery- AUCTION

Eight Italian Roman Rococo period hand-carved walnut dining room side chairs from the 18th century priced and sold in pairs, with cabriole legs, cross stretcher and brown suede upholstery. Born in the Eternal City, this collection of 18th century hall chairs features graceful Rococo silhouettes. Each chair (they are all sides) presents a delicate slightly slanted hand-carved back, adorned with voluted foliage on its crest and a padded serpentine splat covered with double welt suede fabric. Each upholstered seat rests on a delicately scalloped skirt, discreetly accented with carved motifs. The ensemble is raised on four cabriole legs with stylized Spanish feet, connected to one another through a slightly curved H-form stretcher. The result is one of complete elegance, that combines straight and sinuous lines perfectly. With their graceful silhouettes and their suede upholstery perfectly complimenting the walnut grain, these Roman side chairs will bring a touch of elegance to any room, whether used as dining chairs or hall chairs. - AUCTION
