A French Louis XVI period painted wood canapé from the late 18th century, with wraparound back and new upholstery. Born in France during the last decade of the 18th century, this rare canapé features a wraparound back adorned with delicately carved roses on its upper rail. Showcasing arms with scrolled knuckles, the canapé is upholstered in a neutral fabric, and comprises of a custom cushion. Raised on seven fluted tapering legs connected through a rose-carved apron in the front, this Louis XVI period canapé circa 1790 will bring a touch of French elegance to any living room. The seat is 22.5" deep.
