SOLD A French Louis XV style carved elm wood three-seat canapé from the 19th century, with cabriole legs and new upholstery. Born in France during the 19th century, this elm canapé features a slightly slanted tripartite camelback, resting above a rectangular seat with serpentine front, flanked with scrolling open arms. Newly recovered with a neutral-colored double welt fabric, the canapé is adorned with a scalloped apron, accented with foliage motifs carved in low-relief, while the ensemble is raised on eight cabriole legs with hoofed feet. With its sinuous lines and dark patina, this 19th century elm Louis XV style canapé will bring a touch of French elegance to any living room.
