This French trumeau features a linear light grey green painted frame, beautifully accented with a profusion of gilded motifs. In a manner typical of trumeaux mirrors, the upper section receives the applied décor, made of the ribbons, tassels, garlands, arrows and floral motifs, symmetrically placed around a central axis and marked in the corners with rosettes. The lower section receives the mirror, surrounded by a beaded frame. Placed anywhere in a home, perhaps leaning against a wall on a console table or credenza or above a mantel if you have tall ceilings, this French 18th century Louis XVI mirror will enliven any decor beautifully.
