SOLD - Pair of Swedish Neoclassical Period Painted Demilunes with Guilloche Motifs

SOLD - A pair of Swedish neoclassical period painted wood demilune console tables from the late 18th century, with guilloche motifs and tapered legs. Born in Sweden during the last quarter of the 18th century, each of this pair of neoclassical Demilune features a semi-circular top with beaded trim, sitting above an exquisite apron, accented with a guilloche frieze. Each table is raised on three tapered legs topped with low-relief carved rosettes on the knees and is painted in a light color typical of the Scandinavian taste for soft palettes aiming at brightening the homes of Sweden during the long winter.
