SOLD - Louis XVI Style French Accent Table with White Veined Oval Marble Top, 1890s

SOLD - A French Louis XVI style oval accent table from the late 19th century, with marble top, twisted ribbon motifs, fluted legs and X-form cross stretcher. Born in the later years of the 19th century during the Belle-Époque era, this French accent table showcases the elegance and lines of the Louis XVI style. A white and grey veined marble top sits above an exquisite apron, adorned with a twisted ribbon molding followed by bead-and-reel motifs. The table is raised on four fluted tapering legs with carved rosettes on their knees, connected to one another through a lovely X-form cross stretcher that provides additional stability to the ensemble. The rounded lines of the legs and stretcher contrast beautifully with the linearity of the square-shaped block joints resting on the four arrow feet. The table is painted in a soft color that compliments the structure beautifully. With its graceful neoclassical lines and delightful décor, this accent table, circa 1890 will bring a touch of French elegance to any home, perhaps placed in a living room or bedroom.
