SOLD - French Louis XIII Style Upholstered Bench with Os De Mouton Legs, circa 1860

A French Louis XIII style walnut bench from the third quarter of the 19th century, with 'os de mouton' base and upholstery. Born during the reign of Emperor Napoleon III, this exquisite French bench features a rectangular seat covered with a soft yellow fabric, brass nailhead trim and fringe, resting on six mutton legs (os de mouton in French), typical of the reign of King Louis XIII in the 17th century. These legs are connected to one another through a delicately curved cross stretcher. The elegance of the scrolled legs, combined with a lovely walnut patina, will make this French upholstered bench circa 1860 an excellent choice to accentuate any décor, whether placed in a bedroom, living room or hallway.
