SOLD - German Black Forest Carved Wooden Table Clock with Chamois Figures, circa 1890

SOLD - A German Black Forest carved wooden clock from the late 19th century with chamois figures and enameled Roman numbers. This Black Forest clock features a circular face, adorned with blue enameled Roman numbers, set within an exquisite carving. A luscious vegetation that comprises an edelweiss, supports two elegant chamois, (mountain goat - antelopes), whose graceful and confident attitudes remind us of their agility. While the chamois in the front seems to be resting, the one in the back is crowning the clock, with a particularly alert attitude. With its lovely carved details and decorative presence, this German Black Forest table clock circa 1890 will bring a touch of authenticity to any room. A quartz crystal could be installed to bring this clock to a working condition for an additional $150.
