This Swedish painted bedside table features a rectangular top sitting above a single dovetailed drawer and door. The eye is immediately drawn to the Gustavian inspired reeded motifs that adorn the frieze drawer and run along the sides of the piece. The door is decorated in its center with a petite carved rosette, and opens thanks to a brass ring pull. The chest is raised on four tapering legs, whose linearity compliments the ensemble perfectly. Painted in a light color typical of the Scandinavian taste for soft palettes, this Swedish Gustavian style nightstand table circa 1880 will bring a touch of elegance to any bedroom.
