SOLD - Set of Six Swedish Neoclassical Style 1870s Dining Side Chairs with Upholstery

SOLD - A set of six Swedish neoclassical style painted dining room side chairs from the second half of the 19th century, with X-form motifs, cross stretcher and new upholstery. Each of this set of six Swedish dining chairs features a rectangular, slightly slanted back, pierced with double X-form motifs. The entire structure is surrounded in its upper section with delicately carved arched motifs. Each seat has been newly upholstered with a double welt muslin fabric, whose simplicity highlights the elegance of the lines. Each chair is raised on four tapering legs, cylindrical in the front and straight, yet splaying in the back, connected to one another through a plain cross stretcher. The chairs are painted in a light color, typical of the Scandinavian taste for soft palettes, aiming at brightening the Swedes' homes during the long, dark winters. With their graceful silhouettes and exquisite décor, this set of six Swedish Neoclassical style dining room side chairs circa 1870 will bring a touch of elegance to any living room.
