SOLD - Swedish Painted Sideboard, circa 1850 with Two Doors and Four Drawers

A Swedish painted sideboard from the mid-19th century, with two doors and four drawers. This painted Swedish sideboard features a rectangular raised top, sitting above an unusual façade. A set of double doors makes up the left side of the piece, while four small drawers are perfectly stacked on the right side. The doors, adorned with simply recessed panels, open to reveal two large inner shelves offering great storage opportunities, surmounted by a smaller one. The four drawers each open thanks to a brass pull. Raised on four spade feet, the sideboard is painted in a light color, typical of the Scandinavian taste for soft palettes, aiming at brightening the homes during the long, dark winters of Sweden. With its clean lines and grand simplicity, this Swedish 1850s sideboard will bring a touch of relaxed elegance to any home, whether placed in a living room or dining room.
