SOLD - Pair of French 17th Century Wooden Panels with High-Relief Carved Cherubs

A pair of French 17th century square wooden wall fragments with high relief cherub carvings. Each of this pair of architectural pieces features a cherub face carved in high relief, surrounded by a diamond motif. The grand simplicity of the lines is balanced by the great presence of the cherubs, carved in a manner typical of the 17th century. An iron pull seems to indicate that the panels were perhaps used as shutters. Highly decorative, this pair of carved wooden panels will bring a touch of authenticity to any decor, perhaps placed on each side of a mirror or above a pair of demilune tables.
