SOLD Swedish Neoclassical Style Painted Dining Room Table circa 1890 with Four Leaves

SOLD A Swedish neoclassical style painted oval extension dining table from the late 19th century, with four leaves and fluted legs. This long Swedish dining table features an oval top with bevelled edges, sitting above a simple apron running along its entire length, and accentuated with elegant carved medallions. The table is raised on six legs, four of which are fluted and tapering, while the two additional ones, placed in the centre of the table to provide extra support, are delicately turned. The table comprises four removable leaves that allow the table to extend to accommodate at least 10 people. Without its leaves, this piece becomes a lovely round table that will be perfect for any breakfast area or foyer, used as a centre table. The table is painted in a light color typical of the Scandinavian taste for soft palettes, aiming at brightening the homes during the long, dark winters of Sweden. With its great proportions and elegant neoclassical style decor, this Swedish dining table circa 1890 will compliment any dining room beautifully, perhaps accompanied with a set of Rococo chairs.
