A French Napoleon III period walnut extension dining table from the mid-19th century, with four leaves and turned legs. Created in France at the beginning of Emperor Napoleon III’s reign, this walnut dining table features an oval top measuring 48” W when closed, and 127” W with its four newly created leaves in place. Showing a peg construction on the apron, the table is raised on four turned legs to which two additional ones are added in the center to support the leaves. Resting on brass casters allowing the table to be moved more easily, this versatile French 1850s Napoleon III period walnut extension table will bring a touch of subtle elegance to any dining room or breakfast area.
