French Mid 18th Century Neoclassical Whitewashed Oak Three-Drawer Commode - LNG

A French Neoclassical whitewashed oak three-drawer commode from the second half of the 18th century. While this French three-drawer commode was born in the 1760s under the reign of King Louis XV, it is already showing a clear influence of the Neoclassical style that will thrive so beautifully under the reign of his successor, Louis XVI. The commode features indeed a rectangular top, surmounting three simple drawers flanked with fluted side posts that are raised on short tapered feet. The clean lines, typical of the Neoclassical taste, combined with the simplicity of the whitewashed finish, make this French three-drawer commode circa 1760 an excellent choice for any living room, bedroom or family room.
