French Wooden Pétrin Table with Original Dough Bin and Baluster Legs, circa 1750 DLW

A French wooden pétrin table with removable top, original dough bin and single side drawer from the mid-18th century. Born during the reign of King Louis XV, this French kneading table features a rectangular removable top sitting above a single drawer and an original dough bin. Used to knead bread, the table can now be used as a serving table or a console table. The apron is scalloped on all sides while the table is raised on four turned baluster legs, connected to one another with a plain cross stretcher. The simplicity of the lines is subtly contrasted by the curves of the apron and legs, allowing this French pétrin table circa 1750 to bring a touch of authenticity to any décor.
