A French Louis XV style painted iron and gilt metal six-light chandelier with crown and coat-of-arms motifs from the late 19th century. This French six-arm chandelier features a painted and gilded armature, composed of an array of volutes and c-scrolls, surrounding in the upper section a crown supported by various coat-of-arms painted in black and red. The lower section is made of a central basket to which six scrolled arms, accented with gilded acanthus leaves, are connected. These arms proudly support their gilded bobèches with small fleur-de-lys motifs and their candle sleeves. With its sinuous lines reminiscent of the Louis XV era and lovely finish, this French six-light chandelier circa 1880 will brighten up any space beautifully. It has been wired for the US and is ready to be hung.
