SOLD Pair of French 19th Century Louis XVI Style Carved and Gilded Wall Sconces

SOLD A pair of French Louis XVI style carved and gilded wooden wall sconces from the 19th century, with three-arms and torch motifs, wired for the US. Born in France during the 19th century, each of this pair of gilded sconces features a wooden flaming torch applique, adorned with delicately carved roses and stylized acanthus leaves. Three scrolling arms extend forward, supporting the candle sleeves. The result is one of calm elegance, with the clean lines of the central support being subtly contrasted by the curve of the scrolled arms and delicate movement of the roses that seem to be wrapping themselves around the body. With its nicely aged patina and exquisite décor, this pair of French 19th century Louis XVI style sconces will bring a touch of elegance to any wall, perhaps anchoring a mirror or decorative panel. They are wired for the US.
