Swedish 1820s Neoclassical Tall Case Grandfather Clock with Dentil Molding - MIZZ

A Swedish Neoclassical period painted wood grandfather clock with square head and garland motif from the early 19th century. This Swedish clock features a square head, adorned with a dentil molding on the cornice, harmoniously echoed on the neck. A glass door, framed with a foliage-themed ring, protects the face showcasing Roman numbers. The linear body, composed of a traditional single door, is flanked with two delicate half-columns with Corinthian capitals, witnesses of the Neoclassical taste for the Antiquity. The base on which the clock is sitting, is adorned with an elegant drapery attached with nicely detailed tassels. With its slender Neoclassical silhouette, light color palette and subtle décor, this Swedish 1820s tall case clock will be a wonderful decorative accent in any kitchen, living room or hallway. We will be happy to discuss quartzing the clock with you to bring it to a working condition.
