A French Louis XV style carved oak buffet à deux-corps from the Eastern part of France, early 19th century. This French oak two-part cupboard features a tall upper cabinet, adorned with a molded cornice sitting above a floral-carved rail. A set of double arched doors opens to reveal four inner shelves. Each door is decorated with carved panels, visually separated by a central beam, delicately highlighted by a thin, vertical floral ornament. The lower cabinet comprises a small single drawer with floral motifs and brass pull, flanked by two petite doors. The ensemble is raised on four short tapering feet and a linear skirt. With its lovely patina and outstanding proportions, this French Louis XV style buffet à deux-corps, circa 1820 will be a definite focal point in any living or dining room.
