A French Louis XVI style bergère chair from the 19th century, with distressed painted finish, fluted accents, ribbon carved motif and new upholstery. Born in France during the 19th century, this exquisite armchair presents the stylistic characteristics of the Louis XVI era. A curving back, accented with an oval medallion design, is topped with a carved ribbon sitting above a twisted trim. Two partially upholstered arms with out-scrolling extremities rest upon column shaped supports with fluted motifs and flank a central seat upholstered with a double welt cotton fabric. Raised on four fluted legs, the bergère showcases a wonderfully distressed finish revealing the age of the piece. With its graceful Louis XVI style lines and nicely weathered patina, this 19th century bergère chair will bring a touch of French elegance to any living room or bedroom. The seat is 21.25" deep.
