SOLD - A petite French Louis XV period apprentice chair from the mid-18th century, with new floral upholstery. Born in France during the reign of King Louis XV nicknamed the beloved and created to demonstrate an apprentice menuisier's skill, this petite wooden chair features a slightly slanted back adorned with carved foliage. Two open arms with scrolling knuckles rest upon a seat recently upholstered, along with the back, with a lovely foliage-themed fabric. The chair is resting on our cabriole legs connected to one another through a scalloped apron carved on the front. With its petite proportions and skillfully executed decor, this Louis XV apprentice chair circa 1750 will be a great decorative addition to any home, particularly placed in a child's room.
